Closing the Gap is a commitment to reduce the disadvantage in areas of health, housing, education and employment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. GPs have a key role to play in improving the quality of health services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. RACGP has made a commitment to raising general practitioner awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander needs and their cultural context and to advocating for culturally appropriate health delivery systems that improve health outcomes.
